Recognizing that farmers' markets are a hub for high quality, nutritious food, the
Adams County Farmers' Market Association
partners with local organizations increasing access to fresh food for families in need.

SNAP, FMNP and SFMNP Accepted

The Adams County Farmers' Market Association partners with The Campus Kitchen program at Gettysburg Collegeto donate surplus fruit, produce and bakery items to assist families in need. This is how the program works. At the end of the farmers' market week, volunteer students visit our markets to pick up surplus fresh fruit, produce and baked goods from the vendors. The students then return the product to a certified kitchen to prepare for distribution to families that normally do not have access to fresh food.

In 2008, our market vendors donated over 1,000 lbs. of fresh products through this program and we are happy to contribute.
